The 6-in-1 RoadTrip

Ever found a tribe that fits you and your partner’s personality? The group of friends that stick with you through tough and fun times? My wife surprisingly found hers at the workplace. And the bond continued even after they all went on separate ways.

“Team Jackfruit” as what they call the group, happens to be a combination of all the quirkiest, smartest, and most loyal kind of friends. The kind that kicks the funny in your day coupled with the loudest laughters and at the same time punches the reality on your face when something is wrong with you, again in the funniest kind of way.

That’s TEAM LANGKA. (Local term)

One day we planned a road trip around Leyte, and we ended up doing 6 spots in 1 day. This is our 6 in 1 Road trip.

1st Stop

The Peak

Lintaon Peak with 16000 Blossoms of artificial flowers. It’s sitting on top of a high hill overlooking the vast ocean. It became a tourist attraction located 10 kilometer SW of Baybay Leyte due to its picture perfect scenery.

The panoramic view atop the hill is splendid that you’d stay to watch it blow up in your face from day to night time. You can clearly see the horizon between the bright skies and the blue ocean. It became a famous go to place for travellers, picnic spots and even prenup shoots. On our case just a casual “barkada” trip. Entrance fee= 20 PHP. Prenup shoot 1000 PHP

2nd Stop

The Beach

Aqua Azul Resort Famous for its infinity pool, the group decided to drop by and check the spot. 1-10 It’s a 6 for its pool set up. We came on a rainy season that’s why there were less visitors. Food services was not specified but no corkages if you bring your own meal. We could have stayed longer but the pool was not available, so we head out to spot #3.

3rd Stop

The Church

The girls requested the third stop, they wanted to visit the Baybay Church so we took a detour to visit and earnestly pray. Founded by the Augustinian Friars in 1957 and was then turned over to the Franciscan priests it is considered as center of religious catholic faith of the area. There is also a roro seaport nearby, plying from Cebu-Baybay Leyte vis-a-vis. Today the Baybay church is known as the Immaculate Conception Church.

4th Stop

The Bridge

The Agas Agas Bridge Known to be the tallest bridge in Philippines, Agas agas bridge is not only the link of Southern Leyte to Mindanao it is also a tourist spot because of its 30 storey height and 292 ft road length. The view from the top will make your stomach roll at first glance but it will change once you appreciate the view of the vegetations, the mini creek and the vibes of nature coexist along and around the 1 Billion PHP-concrete structure.

5th stop

The Spring

The Castanas Spring Resort located at Balinsasayao, Abuyog Leyte was our 5th stop. Entrance =30 PHP, cottages range from 500-700 PHP depending on the size. Food= there’s a resto with ktv, you can order from the menu,or bring your own. The road to the resort is quite challenging requiring careful maneuver due to very constricted passage ways. It’s like a path to the jungle, collision alarms of our service vehicle kept on activating due to coconut trees everywhere. The flashflood broke the barrier though, a downside everytime the weather is bad. Our remedy?-take as many groufie as we can before take off.

6th and final stop

The Haven

Tiya Inday Haven and Farm The highlight of our trip was when we were able to eat our lunch! (Haha) it was almost 2 pm when we arrived at Tiya Inday’s. Cottage Fee 1000 PHP(bawal tumawad) including pool fee. The plants and landscapes are well maintained and fully manicured. There is a big villa convention-hall- type for big crowds, family and corporate events for 5000 php. The slide was fun especially when we do it all together cutterpilar style . We had the place for just us alone due to off peak season. (Lucky us). It’s like renting the whole place for just thousand bucks. (smart wink)

Team Langka

We head out home around 1700H and arrived at 2000H, Tacloban dead tired but happy with our stomachs gassing up for laughing all trip long.

These people are the coolest,I’m grateful my wife found a tribe for us. People we could call as friends and at some point, FAMILY.

To more travel goals slayed and more friendship memories captured! Thank you! #TeamLangkaD’Best
